Upload Info After you have designed you web page and you are happy with the way it looks you can upload it to your personal web space located on one of Prairie Online's servers. Make sure the your main page is names index.html or index.htm. These are instructions on how to upload your web page onto the Internet using a popular FTP program called WS FTP. An FTP program is a program that is used to transfer files with a remote computer. 1) After you install WS FTP, double click on the WS_FTP icon on your desktop. A screen will come up like the one below. Click on the New button.
2) A screen will come up that looks like this. Type exactly what you see in your window as the window below, then click Next.
3) Again, make sure your window looks exactly like the one below, then click Next.
4) Type in your user name and the password of your Internet account below. Check mark save password. After that's done click Finish.
5) Make sure www.prairie.ca is selected click OK.
6) Now your are connected to the Prairie Onine's FTP site. Click on Mkdir.
7) In this window, type public_html and then click OK.
8) Now you should see a new folder called public_html. To enter the folder double click on it. This is the folder where all of your web page files will go.
9) Transfer the files necessary for your web page by simply dragging files from the left window into the right window.
10) After you are done, give us a call to activate the page for you. |
